Last Friday I participated in a Christmas bazaar to raise money for Dornbecker Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. I took some copies of my children's book The Searcher (still looking for a publisher), some refrigerator magnets, and some t-shirts. I sold two magnets. Nothing else sold. Some might view this as a failure, but I don't. I think every little bit helps. I think we have to keep doing things to help those around us. I hear a lot of people talking about how messed up the world is today, I think it's up to us to make it better. So does Ooky. "Ook-ook!"
Hello everyone, and I hope your enjoying the holiday season this year. Each year I do a Christmas card, and the last couple of years I've included a Christmas animation as well. They vary in quality depending on the time I had, and the complexity of the animation. This year I was pressed for time with all my new responsibilities, and the flooding we had here in Washington state put a kink in my week for sure. But I finished, and am excited to share it with you all. Click here to view my yearly Christmas page, there you can view my card, and the previous years content. This year I've posted to YouTube as well, to try and drive more traffic to my retail site, and to get my name out there. Marketing is a big part of being a freelance illustrator. As always I hope you will visit my website to view more examples of my work at www.ryanloghry.com, and please visit my retail store at www.ookybizniz.com and pick yourself up a tshirt, or something nice. Below is a link to the video posted on YouTube. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas everyone!!
Once again the doctor's waiting room proves to be a great place to sketch. My father spent a night in the hospital this week(he's okay now, they sent him home the next day), and while waiting to see him I sketched this simple Christmas scene. This fellow is very happy that his father is okay. Click on the image to see a larger version. Be sure to visit my site ryanloghry.com, and my new retail store ookybizniz.com. And as always, thank you for visiting.
