April 28th, 2008 Creative Exercise Day 2

Here is my entry for the I thought eating was such a good verb I'd use it as a topic one more day. I sketched during two of my breaks at work today. I didn't have time to color them, hopefully I will have time later this week. These sketches are looser than my usual work, but I figured that was okay, given the spirit of the exercise.

And here is the second image, I don't care for the guy eating potato chips. His arms got all freaked out. But I liked the idea, so I posted him too. I'm really enjoying this exercise, and the sense of community I get from everyone involved. I tip my cap to everyone who's been participating.

These are all great Ryan! Love the kid with the ice cream, and the one with the corn.. oh and the guy bending over so he doesn't spill anything on his suit, great pose!

Elastic buy eating potato chips, I like him to! He, he... Something about the curvature of the arms and body just great!

Good for you, taking time in your breaks to do this!! :o)

I like how you're blowing out the verb to all these different scenarios. The suited man and potato chip eater really stand out! Very smart.

Hi Ryan...

these illustrations are awesome...love that everyone is eating...

I think the guy next to potatoe chip guy reminds me of Doug Heffernan on King of Queens...lol...

These are so great! I love them as is, actually, no color needed.

I actually like the guy eating the chips. His arms add to the feel of the illustration.

Great sketches! You really captured different "eating styles," if you call them that. I love the boy eating ice cream!

They are terrific, Ryan. You can create so many different characters and scenarios, all with the concept of "eating." The business man eating the hotdog is fun though, his glee at eating is apparent and his body language is right on! (Bet he's got an important meeting after lunch!)

You really have the spirit of this exercise! I'm amazed about how much we all can learn from this experience.
You have done a smart job exploring so many ways of eating, and your style is very consistent in all the cases. Chapeau!
